These mugs are handcrafted in Kate Brigden's garden studio in Sussex, England. Every mug is hand painted, so each one is a little unique. This pattern is called 'Rye', it is painted with a grey pigment onto a white glaze. The speckles come from little flecks of iron within the body of the clay. When the piece fired it creates a lovely effect on the surface of the piece.
PLEASE NOTE this clay is a little unpredictable and can have quite have a textured rustic surface, which is one of the reasons we like it but if you want a smooth surface then this might not be the mug for you.
